FMIC while keeping stock airbox

Is it possible to route piping around the stock airbox? Anyone done this?

i have an HKS type S intercooler, and its the same core size as the Greddy, but the end tanks are slightly smaller, and the pipe runs in front of the steering rack, like the old school GReddy kit. the IC inlet is kind of right under the frame rail right there
i haven't tried a stock airbox, but i think it would fit

the current GReddy kit and the clones, put the IC up at the front and use the hole under the airbox and that probably wouldn't work
