Like the title says. I'd like to see someone that did this. I tried searching, but I only found one person and his pictures didn't help at all at how he routed his piping. I want to see how you routed your piping and placement of the actual IC is what is important to me. Doesn't matter whether or not you have your AC/power steering pump. I ditched my stuff a long time ago. Thanks.

Old School HKS, like mine, you can salvage everything. Really not that hard to be honest.

Hozz: Your car was actually the one I saw I believe? I liked you FMIC setup but those kits are getting hard to come by. Do you have any pictures of your setup facing the bumper from the clutch master or windshield wiper motor point of view? I'm trying to keep the number of holes drilled to a minimum.

Here's my NPR setup.
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/installing-isuzu-npr-fmic-782097/

No bumper mod needed.

Did have to lose PS though(unless you go GSL-SE lower PS mount)

Not worried about the PS/AC sytems. I depowered my rack and welded it up anyway.

How many holes have to be drilled? Just two for both ends? The only thing that puts me off about doing an FMIC is the cutting up of the body of our cars. I've seen pictures of cars drilled for piping that looked unecessarily too big.

Do you have any pics of how its setup, in regards to the pipe routing? I had my hands on one a while back from maczpayne I believe? But it didn't come with piping so I never got to mount it. Ended up selling the core.

1 hole has to be drilled for the cold side of the piping, both hot and cold sides are routed on the passenger side of the car(this is old version greddy, not new)

old picture of the piping

Do you have pictures of the actual holes drilled in the chassis, and where the pipes actually pass through? What kind of flange do you have welded on there? Is it the stock TRUST flange or did you change it. Can't really differentiate the BOV. Looks like an old school HKS bov. Sorry for all the neurotic questions. I just like to be well prepared when spending money.

the stock setup doesn't have a BOV flange, so i added an HKS flange to it. i don't have any pics of the cutting, but greddy still has the instructions available online that show what needs to be done.

http://www.greddy.com/img/PHP/products/pdf/791.pdf

my kit isn't complete, only comes with what i have pictured here, though the rest is easy to fab with 2.5" aluminum pipes/bends/couplers

the person that had it before me chopped some of the piping up and used jb weld to make beads...pretty much ruined, but you can have it if you want.

I only got rid of the kit because i swapped to an FD UIM.

Come out to the left and right of the radiator (need to cut holes) and you can keep the fog lights

it was good enough for 273whp on the stock turbo.

also the core in the new kit is much too large for anyone using a stock turbo...i wouldn't use a core that big unless i was close to the 400whp mark.

Gunner,

I'd go for the below if you want to follow my lead in FMIC. It looks similar to my HKS which got me to just over 300 rwhp running up to 14 pounds of boost (a little over a Bar) and my T04E turbo. The big pipe pictured I recognize as what comes off the Compression tube. See mine pictured below at right. And I've got a compression tube similar to my HKS one left over that should work with it. See picture below at left. Make an offer and it's yours.

As I recall, two pieces and your connected to the top of the FMIC. Using the U shaped pipe, you can probably complete the air circuit to the turbo with two or three more fabed pipe pieces. Pictured middle below is an RE Amemiya set up I sold off a while back that is similar to my HKS in design as to piping from compression tube to FMIC. Give you an idea how the Greddy pipe would connect to things. One little hole under the stock air box for the run to the FMIC is all the cutting needed. The run from the FMIC comes up from underneath, so no cutting needed for the return.

just by replacing the intercooler on one car we had a 6PSI increase because the old intercooler was far too restrictive flow wise. it's just got far too many awkward bends. you're right though, it does do just fine for a stock turbo. but honestly i try to push people away from hacking up their car to fit something they will eventually upgrade.

there is other cores that will allow the fog lamps to still be fitted like the saab core, NPR or vmount styles.

I really am not a huge fan seeing all those bends. Looks a bit counter productive for it objective doesn't it? Not bashing on you, I do see its key points.

I do like this design also but was hoping to keep the same location that the HKS/TRUST core accomplishes, where the overflow bottle is located. I think that is the route I am eventually going to go. I won't have the same bends as you do seeing as I've removed the AC and PS so my piping will be straighter. Not exactly excited to make cuts to the body, but the ends will hopefully justify the means.

Nice. I think my piping route is going to be a slight variation of this. Nice job.
