My flywheel stopper: 6"-8" of chain and 2 bolts.

My engine stand adapter: 2 pieces of 3" C-channel welded side to side with holes drilled or torched out to match the plate on the stand and the studs on the front iron.

All n' all it cost me about $15.

My flywheel stopper is astonishing how complex it is. I'll see if i can explain this without making it seem over engineered or extravagant. its a 3foot long piece of flat bar with two holes in it....

yup that's it, bolts onto the flywheel.

seems to me you have never seen what this "factory" tool looks like.. otherwise you would not have to ask questions on dimensions.

see how simple that is or do you really want a CAD file?

i do know what it looks like....
a plate with two holes and a row of teeth
so easy? its pretty easy to get the wrong number of teeth or leg length for it to be a useless peice of ****. but however when i do pull the engine i will just figure it out myself since im just not 'getting it'. thanks for the help...

My engine stand didn't need an adapter, and it was a HF piece of junk

so you want to know the teeth per inch of the flywheel ring gear? the distance between two bolt holes on the rear iron? the distance from the OD of the flywheel ring gear and the chordal line of the rear iron bolt holes? and the stand off from the rear iron to the flywheel ring gear?

mazdatrix sells ones identical to to the Racingbeat ones. they also sell this

yup thats a piece of flat bar with 3 holes, so much for your argument of needing the right tool for the job.

This isn't a part that people make themselves all the time. Most people either use an impact gun, a piece of flat steel, or Mazdatrix's stopper. That's why there are no dimensions for it.

no one said you don't know what you're talking about, it's that we don't know what you're talking about. *** you can see everyone has they're own way of stopping the flywheel so saying that you want to make a flywheel stopper is as informative as saying you need a pet.

I work at a machine shop too. if you want to completely over engineer a simple tool just for the purpose of over engineering a tool i'm all for it. but i'f your going to do that you're going to have to reverse engineer your own measurements.

lol read it again. it IS a whole thread of people making they're own stoppers.

truth is, if you have an impact gun you don't need a stopper.
if you're going to be precise about your torque specs or just doing it by hand. you'll need a long handle to stop the engine from flipping over.

Get a flat bar that you can drill holes in.
make the holes line up to the Pressure plate mounting holes and attach the flat bar to that.
the Bar In TURN must hit the Ground to prevent the flywheel from turning. You can then zip the flywheel nut off with ease,if you have a Impact or a nice size breaker bar.
That is what I made up,,cost me about 4 dollars.
