Flywheel Pressure Plate Spacing

... What is it supposed to be?

I Just buttoned up my car after a week long auto to manual swap and the clutch slips like crazy.

I have a Racing Beat Steel Flywheel that was machined down prior to installing and a new clutch set from autozone (so it should be to stock specs)

I made my own PP to FW spacers using my dads lathe @ 0.310in. to add to the flywheel's PP mounting surface to the inner clutch disk surface of 0.340in. which add together to equal the stock PP to FW distance of 0.650in. on my extra stock S4 FW

My car is a 90 but I don't understand how the PP to FW distance could be different... I have it all set to factory settings, Why wont it work? What am I forgetting?

I'll have it all out again soon so I can double check my measurements cry over them... until then feel free to point out my ignorance and the obvious solution ... other than forking out the cash for the correct flywheel... but will probably happen eventually

these threads offered some information...

{Searched: "flywheel spacers pressure plate" entire post 2nd gen}

I apologize if that is hard to understand, it is hard for me to understand my words... I will get pics or a drawing up soon if anyone will offer to help me out at all.

right now I'm off to yank the tranny back out (9:50pm in ohio... be back by midnight maybe)
