flywheel differences
i know you need a turbo flywheel to go with the full turbo drive train swap but the guy that i am getting the flywheel from just has a bunch of RX-7 flywheels and doesnt know which is from which so how do i have him check to see if he has a turbo flywheel and not an N/A? thanks
the flywheel clutch/p plate need to match the engine. so if you do a t2 drivetrain swap, you'll stay with all n/a flywheel clutch/p plate. the turbo flywheel will be larger than the n/a flywheel in diameter. you should be able to see model numbers on the flywheel. make sure the flywheel you use is the correct series since the counterweights are built into the flywheel and the s4 and s5's are different.
the flywheel, clutch, p plate all bolt together. therefore they all have to be the same. then you have to match the flywheel to the engine because of the counterweights. therefore even if you do a t2 tranny swap, all those parts have to stay n/a.
