if you are using the clutch that came with it then it should be fine to use as it is.

if you are putting a new clutch on it, definitely resurface it.

also a BIG note:

i see no pilot bearing, i hope you remembered to put one in.

Good Eye!!! You're right---no pilot bearing. Honestly, if it was me,,,,and it isn't,,,,but if it was, I wouldn't hesitate to get the flywheel resurfaced. I see a lot of burn and chatter marks all over it. If the disc is at all like what the flywheel looks like, I'd replace that also.
Pulling trannies out of these things isn't that difficult, but it sucks having to do it if you've already had it out once, and realize because it is now slipping and burning that it should have been done while it was out the first time. Also, don't forget the front seal on the tranny input shaft, if it hasn't been done recently, and the throw out bearing. I guess what I'm saying is do it right the first time, then you don't waste any more summer nights and weekends working on it instead of driving it.
One other note---if you opt to resurface, make sure the shop doing it uses a FLYWHEEL LATHE!!!!!!!!. THE RUNOUT TOLERANCE ON THESE IS VIRTUALLY NILL, AND IF YOU DON'T WHAT DRIVETRAIN VIBRATION THIS MUST BE DEAD TRUE----DEAD TRUE!!!

yea....see this is the story tho. but im sure to do all that too....i just got this motor. its a rebuild. and i asked the guys to install a flywheel...not one that i have but one that they have...that way i dont need to mess with it and its already done. i got the motor yesterday and well....this is the flywheel they gave me....used fuked up thing....not even resurfaced....kinda dumb....cuz now i gotta pull the thing off resurface it and put it back on. so really they caused me more work!! i have 2 other flywheels here also but only one will work with my car now....the other one is from a differant year. but im going to take a look at the clutch i got one the one and if its not too bad i might just use it for now....but ill prob just go buy a new one anyway...i wanna save the money at the moment but i never do....haha. soooo...how hard is it to get this thing off anyway? i was readin some posts and seem alot of people have trouble taken it off. any tips? any tools ill need? this would be my first clutch job....well and first motor install too. but thanx for the replies.
