I pulled mine out, took it to an old fashoned radiator shop & said flush this please. Cost $5.
Two weeks later I discovered the real problem was a worn out fan clutch.

If your just changing the coolant and it's not having problems running hot, then just drain fluid, refil with distilled water, run car for a while, drain, & then with car running drain while filling until the water coming out is clear.

Note be sure you get distilled water from Walmart, not mineral, spring, or bottled water. Also you can use a hose to flush it until clear, but then wash it out with distilled before using 50/50 antifreeze & water.

I'd much rather learn and do it myself so I know for sure it really has been done. And im not having any problems with overheating or what not,im just doing it basicly to learn how to and it probly needs a good flush the car only has just about 160,000 miles on it lol.

Disconnect the radiator hose from the block
Take out thermostat
Put hose into the open radiator hose
Run the water thru it will come out where the thermostat was
Keep it going til its clear
Drain, refill w/ water or 50/50 and done

Mine was mud brown first time i did it

I always install a "T" fitting in the hose for the heater core inlet. The put a garden hose in the top of the T, remove the rad cap, and run the car with the hose running, and heater on full blast. All the old gunky crap will spew from the rad cap filler neck. So this for about 5-10 min, or until water is clean. Drain system, refill. Go out and buy one of those prestone flush kits. They cost like $10 and have a T in there that you can thread the hose right to, with instrcutions.
