flow test your injectors?

flow test your injectors?

I thought i remembered reading somethign on the forum somehwere of how u can flow test injectors, and make sure they are clean/up to spec, but i cant seem to find it anywhere, and there isnt anything in the FSM on this, other than checking the resistance...
can anybody help me out?

Those are the two places that RX-7 folks seem to use. I've had RC clean a number of injectors for me.

no, i mean u can actually run 12v to your injector and see how well it flows or something, and measure how much water it moved in a certain period of itme...or something

While Ive never tried it, it is possible to flow test your own injectors. You could use a graduated cylinder to measure how many cc the injector flows in a minute. The tricky part is making sure you regulate the fuel pressure correctly as flow is pressure dependent. Im not sure at what fuel pressure(most likely stock rail pressure) the factory injectors are rated. A freind of mine had his injectors flow tested and cleaned at a local diesel injection shop for about $15 an injector.

It's probably cheaper and easier just to have an injection shop do it for you. And then you can trust the results, too. I don't know of any easy way to do it yourself.
