Flooding problems, plus running weird - Fuel Injectors?

Recently my car has been flooding a lot, but not from shutting it off too soon after starting it. Its flooded three times the last week (out of 4 times driving it) and I'd been driving it for at least 10 minuits each time. Also, it died several times while I was driving it. I dont know about the first time, but the other two times it did it was about when I passed 3800. Im thinking this sounds like a sticky secondary to me, any other ideas?
Edit: when it dies while I'm driving it, its flooded when I try to start it up again.

Oh, a litte extra info: I was in Germany for about a month, and just came back July first. I think it was only started once, because my wife couldnt reach the pedals. The first time it flooded, it had been sitting in the hospital parking lot for a few days while my wife was giving birth. I had only driven it once or twice before that since I was back.

You think fouled plugs might make it do this, too?

Well if your plugs are fouled they wont be able to burn all the fuel

I know when I was trying to restart my engine, after my rebuild (read: low compression), It wouldn't start on my old fouled plugs. I can easily see why this would be the case if you're flooding all the time. One thing to check also: Make sure that you have both the leading and the trailing plugs, you don't want just one plug type in all 4 holes. For the 10 bucks, I'd start there, maybe check/replace your spark plug wires as well. If not, it sounds like your injectors are due in for a cleaning.

Well, it was running fine before I left, and nothing changed. Now its doing this, so its not a bad setup. I think I'm gonna change out the plugs if theyre fouled, then get the injectors cleaned. I've been thinking they needed it for a while, I guess the sitting for a month just amplified it. If anyone has other suggestions, its gonna be a week or so until I can get the injectors sent off.

Remember that sitting for a month drastically lowers your compression, too (until you get it running again), due to the gas eating away at the oil on the all of the seals. But now that its running, its definatly possible that the plugs are fowled up. Its possible that junk settled in the injectors, and they're finally to the point where its messing up the flow.

Yeah, thats pretty much what my thinking was. Its good to know I'm not alone. You think using fuel injector cleaner would help any? I know I still need to get them cleaned, but I have to have my car right now, and my brothers car (which i usually borrow when my car is down since hes at college) is in the shop for another week or two.

Well, i just got a 1993 MX-3 as a daily beater, so I can finally fix all the crap on my car. I'm planning on getting the injectors and sending them off soon. About how much does it usually cost to get it done?

I got mine done at cruizin' performance in (I think) Michigan. It cost 12 bucks per injector, plus about 5ish for shipping, so somewhere around 55ish counting outbound shipping. Its cool that you picked up a MX-3, they're decent little cars, it should last you quite a while for a DD, too

Wonko - did they do a good job? I'll try to find one closer, but that seems like a good price.

yeah, I was really happy with them. You can log into their website and see how each individual injector flow tested and such. It's pretty sweet. Their website is http://www.cruzinperformance.com . If you want to see what the test results look like, goto http://www.cruzinperformance.com/inj...d/retrieve.php , and it will ask for a Customer ID # Enter "1456", for last name enter "Eberhard", and under injector numbers enter "502231-502234" My total after shipping was $55.75, according to my invoice. It turned out thay my injectors weren't THAT bad, but I do feel better knowing they're running top notch as I get more into the tuning end of things. If you have any questions, email the guy who runs it.. I think his name is "Rich". He'll let you know what the turn around time is and such.
