Angry flooding...PLEASE help!!

Ok,ok...I know there must be tons of these questions around, but I am a rex rookie, and I would like to have all the suggestions in one place....hope you all don't mind!!
I own an 86 GXL n/a, which is totally stock. it has just over 80k original on it, and it is a stick. One day, I was driving and everything was fine. then it just sputtered and died on me. That was the last time it started. The only thing I could say was wrong is that my gas mileage was not very good....no smoke, no trouble starting...just the problem with acceleration lag around 3800 rpm(which I would also like to fix!!). I took out the plugs and tried a compression test, but it was too flooded, so zero compression. Tried the ATF trick, but all I got was a LOT of white smoke and it almost started--started but died right away. Doesn't seem to be losing any coolant. I am just at a loss for where to look next!!
The coils are all working, and the plugs are new.
Can anyone PLEASE tell me where to look?? i have only owned it for a couple months, and I LOVE the ride WAY too much to get rid of it!!

Zero compression cause too flooded? how does that happen? I figured if the motor turns over you'd get compression.

Well you got the right attitude. Never say your gonna get rid of your 7 around here.

The flooding? If you unflooded it, it should start up an smoke for awhile (5 min.)

The white smoke? That dosen't sound good. From what I know white smoke comes out when the waterseals go bad.

The lag at 3800 is not a problem. All 6 port engines have that. That is (usually) when your 5th and 6th ports open.

I was told that the fuel mixes with some oil, and that lubricates the seals inside the motor. I was also told that when you get too much fuel in there at one time(flooding), that the seals get too wet, and then they hafta dry out first. Anyway, when I tried to crank it that first time, the starter just made a steady whining noise like it wasn't hooked up to anything, and thats when I comp tested it and got zero. After a bit, I tried again, and then it sounded right, but it wouldn't start. thats when I tried ATF, then etc etc. haven't had her too long, but this happened all of a sudden. thats where I am now. I was also told that I should have the injectors cleaned. Anyone know where I can have it done and what I should pay for it? There is a Mazda shop here, but I know that they tend to be expensive.

I tried to unflood it by pulling the plugs and the fuel pump fuse(found out now that I should have pulled the EGI fuse under the hood but haven't tried that yet). Then I turned it over for about 20 seconds, put the plugs and fuse back in and cranked it. Took a lot of pedal to get anything, and all I got was a LOT of white smoke(did NOT smell like coolant) and the engine would start roughly and die right away.
I understand about the 6 port and all, but I thought I heard of some guy that found a fix for the 3800 rpm lag. I would just like it to run smooth when I am smoking the local poor rich kid in daddy-s civic...
