Flooding issue

Unhappy Flooding issue

Got some great advice about the EGI fuse and all...
but I could only get it to fire once and nothhing since.
Any suggestions about purging the system--without burning up my second starter in the process.

Searching for "flooding" will yeild more info then you will ever need. This is a standard problem, and has been beaten to deah as far as discussion goes.

Does that mean it flooded again? If it keeps flooding, you should install a fuel cut switch to prevent further floodings. The starter shouldn't burn out if you don't crank for too long each time and let it cool between cranks (that sounds dirty). Anyways, if the EGI fuse trick isn't helping you out, you'll need to pull the spark plugs, dry them off, inject a little oil into the engine through the plug holes, and try again.

I've also had way too much experience with this problem. Best fix I found was a fuel pump cut off switch. Just throw a toggle switch in the fuel pump power line, when you hear it ain't gonna fire, flick the switch and it stops flooding it's self. Removing the Fuse for the fuel pump basically does the same thing. Another thing i've done which I have no idea what kind of damage it does to a rotary is the roll start. This has worked for me in the past.

Lotsa help from the forum--
My MAZDA tech(owner-friend) had a working solution.
Do not pull fuses.
Top hose on intake:
3 oz. of dextrol.
Good battery--jump if older battery.
Will smoke awhile--maybe run rough, but this will subside.
This may actuallly help some of the seals.
If your 7 has been flooded for awhile you may want to change the oil.
