flooding fix
hey y'all
i just had a problem with my car flooding out and had trouble finding out how to fix it so i thought id let everybody know what i found.
Basically it is this:
In most cases a flooding problem is caused by dirty injectors staying open a little bit and leaking fuel into the intake. this happens because with the seven's fuel injection system there is a constant 60 psi on the feul system and the injectors are just solenoids that open and close to let it in when they get dirty there is enough pressure to push a little fuel through.
What you do to fix it is get the injectors cleaned. This costs a couple hundred bucks.
BUT if u are poor like me you can try fuel injector cleaner.
don't get the cheap $1 **** it will f*ck your stuff up!
What you want is a one-time cleaner that u add to your gas. it will cost about 5 bucks. after u add this drive the car for a couple days and hit some high rpms to flush the **** through. this worked for me. if your problem is real bad it might not.
as a precaution you can also add a fuel cut off switch.
to do that you need a two position toggle switch and a couple feet of medium guage wire. in the drivers side floor space right above the gas pedal there is a black and yellow box. to make a cut off switch you need to clip the middle (black\white) wire and attatch a wire to each end of it run these two wires to the posts on the switch and mount the switch somewhere and whalah!
when your car floods just turn the switch to off and crank the engine for a few seconds with the pedal to the floor. then turn it back on and the car will start.
(it might smoke a little)
