flipped fd=crazy deal

hey guys i need some help again... so heres the deal i just got a sweet setup but i need some help with what to do with it. a buddy of mine flipped his fd a while ago and its been sitting so i finally offered him some money for the goods he got. i got the greddy t78, greddy tubular manifold, greddy wastegate, 3in downpipe, and all the lines and other odds and ends all for $250.00. i own a fc vert t2 streetported and i was thinking about putting this in for now. my questions are other than spacing the manifold and modifying the downpipe and intercooler piping should this be an ok setup for now. what rpm spool should i expect? what kind of money would the setup sell for?

you need to mock up the manifold. It may actually not need much modification. I have a Feed (or at least i was told it was Feed) tubular manifold designed for an FD and it does not need a spacer. Short runner manifolds like the HKS tend to need the spacer though.

the greddy manifold put the turbo pretty far up in the engine bay in the fd so i wonder if it will clear the intake

That turbo will be a lag monster on your engine. It won't make power before 4000 RPM.

You'll need a full fuel system upgrade, EMS, intercooler, etc. etc. Figure an additional $5000 to get the turbo running properly on your car.

you dont beleive i got it for that price? i asked for help with mounting these things in an fc not your opinionson what you think is bs or not. the deal is the guy flipped the car over a year ago and its been sitting since. where i live there is very few rx7 enthusiasts around our area. i happened to meet him with my car, he said he had flipped an fd a year ago and i asked what goods hes got. i was the first and only offer and he sold them to me. if youd like pics i can post them.

i dunno if the manifold will fit your motor i have an fd motor in my fc and when i tried to use the greddy log from an fc ,it didnt even want to go down on the studs. the t78 on a fd motor with a stock port isn't bad because the t78 is similar in size to a t66 if you measure wheel size in mm. on a ported t2 motor it will be fine. fun turbo . drop some 1200 or 1600cc's in the secondaries tune that bitch and enjoy your great deal.

its a greddy tubular manifold, i think it could be like considered a long runner manifold. on the fd it put the hot section in front of the intake manifold, the only thing that was a problem on the fd was the downpipe and he heated it and bent it in enough to clear the manifold.

you will need to mount the manifold and turbo first to see how it clears the LIM, water pump outlet, strut tower, etc. before anything else and that's only something you can tell us.

+1. People have used extra flanges at the block or the turbo to create space to clear the LIM. I would guess you can make it fit but the DP will need to be adjusted as well as the WG dump. You'll need an itercooler like Aaron said. $5k sounds like alot but hes right you dont have everything you need yet.

Clutch
Bigger radiator
