flange i made

well i finsihed the hardest part of my custom intake manifold, since i made it outta of steel i decided to make my own mani to block flange, i started out with a nasty hunk of 7/8 thick steel that i got from forum member crackheadmel i then milled both sides and the used the old lower intake manifold as a guide and cut it out and milled the holes in it..

That's a very nice flange. Don't forget about adding the passages and nipple for the primary injector air bleeds. Makes a big difference in idle quality especially if you are going with a single throttle body.

I don't have a mill, so I just have my flanges cut at the local machine shop of the laser cutter/water jet.

Looks good! I can attest to the 'nasty' hunk of steel, looked like a piece of a 30year old saltwater boat anchor

Hurry up and get that thing on the road

Nice! But I don't understand why this piece is necessary... Is it to help with the fitment of something else?

I'm assuming - This is just the flange for the intake manifold. He will later weld the intake runners on it which will lead to a common point where he will add another flange to mount a TB.....or carb

so the intake will be made of steel and not aluminum? i recently had one done for 60 bucks. all i did was give the guy a gasket. but that's a nice peice considering you did it yourself.

of course

I just see so few full custom intakes it throws me off. I thought the stock intake is pretty efficient anyway...
