NO air pump, no cats, header helps, and a free flow muffler. Revv it up to 8k, then let off till 6k, then punch it to throw some MASSIVE flames. Also, shift at like 8k rpm will also shoot a nice flame. Flames RULE!!!

ok, I was gonna start a new thread but since this one's already going..
I'm a little upset that I haven't been able to throw flames with my new RB exhaust on my 88 TII.. I've tried everything, high shifts, letting off at high rpms and then flooring it, downshifting into high rpms, etc.. and I get nothing..
I have the strait thru exhaust(no cats) which I thought was all I needed.. and other than a walbro, my car's stock.
My air pump is still intact, but the valve underneath the car isn't going anywhere, so I can't imagine that'd be messing with anything. Is the air pump effecting anything else? Also I've restricted the stock airbox a little more for the time being.
Can you see anything with my setup that might be stopping me from shooting flames? Am I not running rich enough?

With a RB full exhaust, you "should" throw flames. I can't imagine the air pump causing too many problems. Can you smell gas when you stand behind the car as it is running?
