Does anyone know of a method by which to disable to way the door handles work, in that they unlock if you dont hold the handle up? I really dislike it as half the people that ride in my rex forget to hold the handles up. Power Door Locks are fairly useless if the passanger side keeps getting unlocked:P
As a side note, if i were to get the passanger side power door like stuff from a junkyard, could i install it in the drivers side such that the passanger side would aork to unlock the drivers side? I ask this because later i want to install an alarm, and would like it to be able to unlock the drivers side as well as the passanger, and this seems like the first logical step.
Any help appreciated, thanks

they work like all japanese cars did in the 70's and 80's, so that it was less likely to lock your keys in the car you have to hold the handle up.
Once you are used to that design, it makes a lot of sense and it is again much less likely to accidentally or on purpose lock the keys into the car.
You know even my 8 year old duaghter knows that when she closes the door on the RX-7 she has to hold the handle up. I would think that any of your passengers would learn this as well, oir you would just start locking the door with the key when you leave.
But, getting a passengers lock and putting it into the drivers door wouldn't do anything as there is no control switch in the door.
If this really is an issue for your passengers then you should have aftermarket 5 wire door lock motors and a door lock controller installed.

Try to use your key as much as possible - I know it's a royal pain in the ***.  The door handles are notorious for breaking.  When they break, you need to replace them and cannot fix them.
Nice time to install power door locks and an alarm control...
