Fixed jumping idle...Not the TPS...

I was a little pissed at the horrible idle I was getting so I parked in front of 711 and started playing with the two hoses that come off of the stock intake tube... U know, the that I took off with the custom intake.. Well when I put my finger on the hose thier was this huge sucking force that when u plug it the hose actually callapses on itself. I plugged it up and the idle went to normal instead of bouncing. Took my thum off and bounced again... on stopped. off bounced.. on stop off bounce onstop offboune. The other hose seemed to be fine. nothing with it. I dont know the deal with these hoses except that one works off manifold pressure or somehting. If anyone knows , tell me please. I dont know what im doing by pluging it but it seems to work fine. The other one is left hanging. Now the car idles perfect except still spits a little gas when cold

Are you sure that's not just water? It's quite normal for cars to dribble a bit out the exhaust when cold. Water is a product of combustion but it's normally kept in vapour form by the heat of the exhaust. It'll smell like gas if the mixture's a bit rich.

Have not thought of that. When I put my hand in front of it And feel it it is pretty much gas. ITs like an brown looking gas exaust smell.

It's brown from the black crap in your exhaust (stick your finger in), and when the engine's cold the exhaust gases smell because a rich mixture is needed for idle.
