fix one problem, only to have more! (ground issue)
Well, I fixed my first problem (screwy voltage readings/etc) by replacing the brand new battery with an older one (damn dead batteries!) Anyway, now I'm having a problem of a different sort. My engine turned over fine by hand and moved freely, well, I went to turn it over with the starter, and my engine ground wire started smoking (from the block->firewall), so I'm assuming my main ground is bad, but now my engine won't turn over by hand at all, starter just locked up or what? I can't get it to turn no matter what I do. Any ideas?

I would say that your bendix gear on the starter is locked up in your fly wheel, and that maybe you seized up the starter motor, but I hope that isn't the case.

Thanks for the help, that's exactly what happened, for some reason my ground bolt was stripped, and wasn't in all the way, replaced it, and saw the starter was dead and stuck in place, so I swapped it out, and now the car starts like a champ! Idle's a bit picky, tends to flucuate around 750rpm then occasionally it hickups and stalls (probably the bad gas, hehe)
