fitament of bomex kit for fc
I have a 88 FC i was wondering if anyone has had experenice with putting the Bomex kit on this car. On their website, they show the fitament of the front bumper and sideskirts but no fitament on the rear. According to Bomex there is small gaps in the front bumper if installed on the earlier fc (up to 88). The 89+ model is a perfect fit.
Has anyone installed this kit?? i wanna know how bad the gaps are and if the rear even fits.....

what i dont understand about it all is (to my knowledge) the only cosmetic changes from the s4 to the s5 were the bumpers, mirrors, and mouldings, but no major body alterations.... so why would the kit fit the s5 but not the s4 ( or even have a small gap for that matter). if it fits the s5, shouldnt that garuntee fitment on the s4?????? please help...

thats why you should get the gpsports kit. GPSports-na.com.
I've heard the bomex kits DO have small gaps... they don't fit perfectly... the rear DOES fit... but like i said, there are some good sized gaps on ALL the parts...

I don't understand what you're trying to do.
The manufacturer, Bomex, explicitly stated it was made for the 1989-1991 FC3S.
Why are you trying to fit it on your 1988?
If you do go ahead with the purchase, there is no guarantee of proper fitment outside of Bomex's recommendations.
Anyone who claims the front bumpers are identical are WRONG.
This pic clearly shows the notches in each corner that the 1989-1991 FC3S as which the 1986-1988 FC3S does NOT.
This is why the front bumper doesn't fit well.

yeah, but the 86-88 has a weather stripping all the way around the nose, which the 89-91 doesnt.... if they dont fit, then how are all these people doing s4 to s5 cosmetic changes, with no visible "gaps" in the front bumper..... if they are different???? not trying to argue, just figure this whole consperosy out!!

I dunno what cars you're talking about, but I think the body shops are shaving the corners to make the front bumper fit.
Most people don't know this, but body kit parts are supposed to be professionally installed by a competent auto body shop.
They are not meant to be done by you in your backyard garage.
Auto body shops have the tools, resources, and know-how to properly fit these parts.
