Question first time tune up?

I was reading that we couldn't use regular plugs in our cars. Can someone tell me if we can just replace the bad spark plugs with regular ones? Do we HAVE to get special FC plugs, or will it hurt the engine if we replace them with regular ones? What is the best place to go for a complete tune-up on the car. (replacing plugs, changing fluids, checking overall car) Or is there a thread to tell me what I need to get my car running at top condition? Any help would be great. I just bought my S5.

Well, I don't know what you mean by "regular ones".

The best plugs to use are NGK. You will need two of each part number. One set is for the leading and the others are for the trailing. If you don't know what I mean, just ask.

NGK plugs::

BUR-9EQ 2each
BUR-7EQ 2each

As for fluids, I would recommend a synthetic Blend oil for the motor and DO NOT premix. For the Transmission, you should go with RedLine MTL (only for manual) and then use RedLine Gear oil for the diff. oil.

Also, through some RedLine WaterWetter up in your radiator. It will run a whole lot cooler...

Best of Luck

Any specific reason you told him explicitly not to premix? Given the flaky nature of the S5 MOP, I would think adding a little premix to the gasoline every now and then would be a good idea.

thanks. So I just need to change the plugs, the motor oil, trans fluid, and the rear diff fluid. Plus some water wetter in the radiator. Is there anything else I should check on or change to get it the N/A in the best running condition.

You might want to check the air filter and replace the fuel filter. Neither are too expensive to replace. You should also inspect all the radiator/heater hoses for excessive wear, worn areas, softness, rotting and so on. Vacuum hoses should be checked too for cracking/rotting and hoses that have slipped off their nipples. Loose vacuum hoses could cause bad idling and decreased performance.
