First time engine rebuild q's

Alright so I picked up a spare engine from a local guy off of CL. Its a 89 engine and tranny that have 100k miles on both. He said it was in good working condition before you took it out to do a T2 swap in it. I'm not questioning if he was telling the truth or not, but I would like to rebuild the engine in a learning experience. I have rebuilt my old D16, my current CA, and my old SR. Never messed with a rotary before. Whats all required for me to replace when I rebuild the whole engine?

I found this thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/13b-rebuild-parts-lists-395019/

When I go to the links that were posted the "master" rebuild kit for my engine runs for 900$ pretty much. Could I buy a gasket/seal kit like this: Clicky
Buy stock apex seals and 93 corner seals and that would be good enough?

Thanks a bunch and sorry for my noobness

Edit: Oh also I will be buying the rotary aviation dvd on how to rebuild the engine also. I read in other threads that its the best dvd.

Keep doing a lot of searching on "rebuild" threads. I am in the same boat and have read and learned a lot. You will find that many parts can be reused if they are within spec. One thing I can recommend is stay organized. My parts (for 2 engines!) are all over the place. I've really slowed myself down in that sense.
