First time on the 1/4

I just got my car back a couple months ago going on 10k miles on the new engine. I've been dying to see what kinda times it runs in the quarter mile but theres one problem.

I've never tried to launch my car in the dry. I've dropped the clutch at 4k a couple times in the rain but never dry. I also have never even been to a drag strip before.

Soo i'm looking for some tips you guys have for launching, drag strip etiquette, or anything else related since i'm a complete noob.

Car mods: S4 turbo II with S5 turbo II engine and tranny swap. Street port, light weight flywheel, act clutch, new suspension.

just man up....i hold it at 4k and ease it out of the hole.i slip the clutch a little when i launch so i dont snap anything.

instead of just dropping the clutch real hard, then you could spin,or wheel hop.

For a good time haha.

To be honest I had no idea easing it in was better than just dropping it hard since I've never tried I suppose I really am a noob.

Any more info would be appreciate

well, it's no good for your clutch, but I'd rather burn out a clutch than drop a rear diff on the ground.

You're going to need a LOT of practice before you turn any sort of respectable times.

Just go the strip, enjoy yourself, try not to break your car, and try to improve your 60' times.

Theirs not much we can tell you that will help you very much at the track. It's all practice.

All we can really tell you is to slip it out of the hole, don't drop it. Spinning, as cool as it may look, is never good.
