Build date is 3/89. It has the power seatbelts too, which says it is an S5. I am assuming it's not the original engine. I went under the car today to look at the rear end, but I can't tell the difference.

Can somebody show me a picture of an S5 interior so I can compare it? I am going to just do a custom gauge cluster anyway, but I'm wondering what the difference in A/C controls looks like.

Ah, so they are basically the same. It's just the AC vents in the center that are different then?
I have both an S4 surround (which is installed right now) and an S5 surround in the hatch. So, if anybody wants an S4 surround (and I think it's pretty much perfect), let me know. I like the S5 better.

Can't complain much for $500, however that 4.3 diff will KILL you with a LS1, but good thing everyone wants them for there rotaries, could probably get some decent $$ for it.
Have you found an LS1/T56 yet? I've been keeping my eyes open, but I don't really want to spend more then $3500 or so for a <80K mile or so 98-00ish f-body pullout, and I've been seeing them for more like 4K on ebay. I don't have the cash to buy it if I found it anyway, I still have to sell off all the parts I don't need on the TII for some money to get the project going.

knowledge junkie
The GTUs is know to have a few "parts bin" stuff from Mazda. Do you have snaps for the hatch cover behind the seat (in the carpet), but no mounts on the speaker covers?
Also Mazda still sells the Turbo II/GTU-S centercaps for those rims. Don't toss the RIMS, they're a bit rare.

My 89 GTUs Vin number starts like this -- JM1FC3312K0700???
so your should compare.
Also here is a few pictures of my 91TII inside to help you. If they don't work I will pull it out side and take better pics.
Also check your pms for rear end info
