finnished wireing in a fuel cut switch.. and now.......
it still doesnt start.. the weird part it, is that on either position there doesnt seem to be much change in what the car is doing.. it still just turns over then bumps here and there.. then almost starts, revs up to llike 3 grand than just dies.. I dont understand what the deal is...
could it possibly be something to do with wrong fuel presure.. it almost seems something is stuck open and its telling the injectors to put too much fuel in the car..I just had the injectors cleaned and rebuilt so that isnt the problem..
and now it wont do anything.. looks like a blew the starter from trying to get it going..

You probably killed the battery
Are you sure you spliced the proper wire? The middle black/white wire on the black relay (yellow harness). From the wire side its the top middle position on the harness. Did you just twist the wires together, or did you use butt connectors and same goes for the switch?

its not the battery.. cause it went from working fine to nothing. and all the lights etc still work fine..
yeah i did it the right way for sure.. used all butt connectors and a good toggle switch..
one thing though, I used a toggle with just a + & - not a 3 prong with a ground.. would that make a diffrence?
I asked the guy at the parts store and he said it should be fine without a ground because of the low voltage...

make sure the switch has at least a 10 amp rating...some of the cheapo ones only have a 3 amp rating, and typically you want twice the rating of what will be going through it.

did you check your fuel filter?
could that be cloged just enough to let it start but then when the motor starts to require more fuel restricts the fuel flow. (does that make sence?)
and it sounds like you over heated your starter

if it revs to about 3 grand...it could be a disconnected/bad AFM
check the AFM with a multimeter (process is described in the FSM i think)
if the AFM checks out, check your voltage at the pump
and if that checks out (should be around 10-12v)
check for ANY vac leaks. if you have a T2, the TID can leak really bad. make sure all vac hoses are on secure.
one thing i do after i unflood the engine is to crank it without the pump on...that ensures all the fuel will be burnt, and none will be pumped into the engine...then crank it over again, and while its cranking, flip the switch.
let the starter sit for the night...after awhile of cranking it just wont go anymore. after it sits and cools you can try again.
