Nice clean car, good job on the paint

Who cares if its not white, atleast its not in a junk yard or something. ( Often I see 10th AE beat up or in junk yards )

The body was very clean, it needed no "body work" per say. I sanded the whole thing down to metal in most places cause the paint was peeling so bad. Sparyed 2 good coats of self etching primer, then sprayed Dupont VOC 3.5 with a Finishline III HVLP gun, lots of sanding, buffing and polishing after that. This is the result. Took a couple of months to get it all done.

Not quite done with the door jams, and under the hood stuff, but I will post pics later when thats all complete.

Thanks for the compliments.

here is a pic of it during the work

ouch

Must be the lighting. Unless it just wears off over time, I did not do anything to the windows.. they are all original. Cleaned them with glass cleaner is all. I am not even really sure what that "bronze" is soposed to be .. I will have to pay more attention to a normal TII next time i see one, comapre the windows.

That is amazing. How many hours do you think you put into it total, and how much did you spend on supplies.

I am going to paint mine black in my auto-body shop class this year, we have all professional tools and painting booths, really looking forward to it, especially after seeing yours.

Ohh man, I can't count the Hr's .. insane amounts of time. And It's not perfect ... but I am happy with it. I had never painted anything in my life (besides rattlecan crap) so I am sure someone that knows what they are doing, with the right equipments could do it in 1/5th the time. I read a couple books, and educated myself online on what to do...

I had the Air compressor so i didnt need to buy that, i had to buy the spary gun, primer, paint, sand paper, buffing compound, strainers, drop cloths, thinners Etc.. etc. Prolly cost with the paint also ~$1000 in supplies.

Sure did, Tirerack came through on their promise and had my 4th tire & wheel Fed-Ex'ed red Saturday delivery for me. As they should have .. how the hell can you send out 3 tires and not think "hmm, no 4th tire?" moron's, but it's all okay now.

P.S. I will try to post a pic of the rear tommorow. Looks really sweet with the big *** Dual N1's polished up and thumping

Damn Robert that turned out badass as hell. What a difference from the meet in Elk Grove.

Guess whose helping me when my black car is ready to be painted.

I hope you're bringing it to the autocross today to show it off.
