MI Finished the new gauges and stereo

I did a custom fab job for my gauges and also for my stereo using the stock stereo brackets. Here are a couple granny pics from my cell phone, will up some better quality when I get to the pictures. All the dimmer ability works on it also, looks dope if you ask me hehe

That looks good, I wish the new Alpine headunits weren't all blue. What ever happened to adjustable button colors?

I like the red since it goes with the red components I have installed such as RB springs, KYB AGX shocks, and red painted calipers and such. I am going to paint the RX-7 logo on the mud guards red as well... just need to get the paint for them. And I originally got the stereo for dirt cheap on newegg.com but then the USB went bad and wouldn't recognize anything USB. Since I had already done the work for that particular head unit and I think that almost every unit I see these days makes me gag, I went with this head unit.

It was cheap, does what I want and doesn't look like ***.

Pretty interesting. If I could get those red buttons on this receiver I'd be so happy.

I have a collection of "vintage" Alpine decks but I wanted something new for my soon-to-be daily driver. I want red buttons with a black screen and white text, dang it.

Edit: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500CDA1...?tp=5684&avf=N

Hmm..

Nice alpine deck... Has about the same specs as the clarion I put in. The nice thing about the clarion is the front USB/aux inputs with direct control on the MP3 players you plug in. Also the problem with the rear usb port is the fact that there is such a small amount of space behind the stereo area in the rx7 dash, less in the back means less work to get it all back together. I know it was a HUGE pain in the rear for me to get all the stuff back together in my dash what with the enormous amounts of wiring, relay for power antenna, and all the gauge wires and the water temp line.

I have yet to look behind there yet, so that might be a good point. My 3 has the stock radio and my Miata has never had a radio.
