Finished motor swap. Everything good except my idle.
Well I did the swap and everything went smooth. The motor feels very strong, gets good oil pressure and pulls good vaccum. The only problem is my idle. It will sometimes idle at 500 but then drop 150 and occasionally go so low that all the warning lights will go on like its about to stall.
It will puff some grey smoke only when its at idle. When you get on the gas theres a slight hesitation(which I had before) then the thing hauls ***. No smoke on acceleration or when I let off. Some popping and flames when coasting in gear with no throttle.
Whats goin on. Could timing cause any of this ****? Id really appreciate the help.

i just got through a host of idle problems.everyone told me it was vacumleaks...well,thats what was the problem, all right.check all vacum hoses/conectors/etc.use carb cleaner and spray it around gaskets and stuff to find leaks[the idle will drop if a leak sucks in carb leanner].there is a host of info on setting up your idle-do a search.good luck
