Ok so i got it to rev past 4k, but it still wont hold idle. When i first start it, it idles fine for about 25-30 sec then i have to hold it. Also, when i rev it up to about 6-7k it starts to pop and back fire while im still on throttle...

what kit did you buy? i know you must have modified it extensively, but just wondering. i think some of the civic ones are nice and long so you have the most pipe to work with.

Ya, vzw pix is stupid and won't allow you link to their service. I usually just saved them from vzwpix to the computer then uploaded them to the vbgarage on rx7club.com

...I actually didnt have to modifiy the piping that much, alot of it i used as it, the 90* bends i didnt cut, the ones after them didnt need to be cut either. il also post a link to the piping kit i got. The only two things...i would recomend getting a better kit, because the couplers are kinda bunk, they are not silicon, so i hope they hold boost ok. And, because i ran outa money, i had to use that one pieice of ugly pipe into the stock coupler, id buy another 90* reducer like the one i used off the turbo (2in -> 2.5in) so i can go directly into the 2.5in piping...oh well A coil did have to be relocated slightly, removed the brake ducting, the bumper core support, and as you can see, i have no P/s A/c or wiper resovoir.

I wouldn't trust that small intercooler to safely cool more than around 300rwhp.

Also if the pipes do not have a bead welded around the ends for the couplers to grab onto they will pop off everytime making your car instantly stall. And you cannot restart the car until you get the pipe back on. Really sucks when you do this in the middle of the road. With the stock ecu you really need get beaded ends, silcone couplers, and t-clamps

^ well seeing as i was pushing the stock TMIC and stock Rubber couplers to 11psi, i dont think it will be an issue. i only plan on running maybe a 1psi more, i was really trying to battle heat soak with this setup, besides, now all i have to do is getta bigger core if i want more hp.

yes the core is a bit small but slightly larger than the stock top mount and eliminates heat soaking. i wouldn't really try to push anything over 270RWHP with it though.

i heard the rule of thumb is to stick with the size of the outlet on the cold side.(turbo)...
im not really sure yet...ive been looking, just havent found one i like yet....
id like to go 2 inch to keep the boost loss down but...*shrug* dunno...

2 1/2 in/out, at least a 24" long core by 9-11" tall, shorter meaning less turbo lag, taller meaning more cooling efficiency for bigger numbers.

I thought I heards some guys on the forum say someone was making 400hp with stock TMIC? Anyway I think you did a great job and finding a replacement for the IC you installed will be easy and you can intern flip that one on ebay.

OK update....its running so-so now, still hesitates and whatnot, but doesnt backfire at 6-7k and is now DRIVEABLE!! whent for a spin last night. Short one since i blew an intercooler hose(forgot to tighten). After tightening him down, i drove spirted back home and it didnt come off again. So we'll see how shes doing today

Its so sick though, i can put my hands on either side of the piping off the intercooler. The hotside is hot as hell, then the cold side is cool to the touch!

yep, the only way to push 400RWHP with the TMIC is with some way to cool the intake charge.

that fmic will cool 300whp just fine, efini; i'm not sure why karack is so convinced otherwise.

don't listen to these guys man
