Finally Got It Painted!

Well, after 9 months of work on the car the exterior is finally near completion. I had the car painted last week—needs some touch -up, but looks good overall. The body color matches the wheel job I did months ago! Still not sure if I want the inside of the wheels gunmetal flake or black. I like the look now, but I think I may need to bring it into photoshop to see how they would look in black. I'll eventually put new wheels on—I just wanted to see how the stock wheels cleaned up and looked when "modernized."

Still have a couple of electrical gremlins, interior work, race pipe install and some tuning. We should be a go by this summer!

Let me know what you guys think.

I like that color a lot. Very pretty. I like the wheels a lot too. Just out of curiousity, why didnt you paint the rubstrips as well?

Thumbs up

Looks nice from that shot! I'd keep the color, I don't seem to see as many that are not black, red, or white.

Original Car Shot

The color is a Medium Grey Metallic. THe original was the Arctic Silver—which I thought was more of a powder blue(!) THe car looks sharp now with the blacked out interior and the darker body. I really HATED the blue/blue look. I WAS going to have the moulding painted and at the last minute convinced myself to stay as close to original as possible. I've even dropped the idea of a bodykit in favor of the stock Sport Aero Parts. I'll probably drive the car for a year and sell it for either a TII, 3rd Gen or RX8. I had picked it up for $800 w/a remanufactured 13b with only 20k miles. I'll just use the car as a daily driver when the lease is up on the Ford Exploder.
