Not sure if this is normal or not, but I have discoloration on all my irons.

that bearing needs to be replaced without a doubt, your irons look good to me! check the cooland passages (where the water seals go) check for thin areas or corrosion...

but yep i would def replace those bearings....they are shot

^ I figured that's what I'd hear about the bearing. But I've learned that every time I speak and think I know, I find that in fact I had no idea what I was talking about So pretty much I play dumb till I find other wise.

Question though, what causes the rear bearing to wear like that? Does that look like normal use or should I be looking for some other fault that caused that?

I'll get some pics of coolant seal passages but as I remember it they looked good.

I checked the front gear and have similar wear on it. Could that be from over tightening belts?

The rotor bearingss don't have any copper/brass showing

Gurew, per our PM I got more pics of the front housing but I'm at my sis's having good times with beer and grilling....when I get home I'll post pics

Front gear bearing

Is it better to replace the bearing or simply get used gears in good shape? Isn't there an issue with replacing bearings on rotors and the bearings not holding as long as the OEM pressed ones? Is the same true of front and rear gear bearings?
