Talking FINALLY finished my motor and installed her Sunday.

It seemed I would never get to this point, but after all the scrubbing, cleaning, grinding, modding, rewireing and of course...blood and sweat, she is finally in. I posted a few pictures to show the transition. I hope to have it running this weekend...I need to take a little break though first.

Enjoy!

I thought the blood made a nice color for the water neck...lol.

TURBINE,
Thanks for the compliment. I had a hard time picking a color scheme...I wanted it to look clean and simple. At first...everything was going to be candy red and silver...but, after all the work...I changed to black.

Did you paint the track on the pullies? This is typically not something you want to do, it can add wear to the belts and cause them to break faster.

Other then that it looks nice.

I didnt focus on that area, there is some over spray though. Its a light coat so it should be ok.

It usually doesn't make a difference since the pulleys suck any way. They shoudl wear the paint off as well. Atleast mine did(got lazy towards the end and didn't mask some off).

Ya...me too. When the time comes, Im going to powder coat them anyways...
i cant seem to find aftermarket pulleys that work with PS/AC and air pump... I think this is the only way to go.

Man, today SUCKED!!! All I wanted was to hear her start....I didnt even come close to geting there. EVERYTHING went wrong....heres a nice list.

Bleeder from slave cylinder breaks right off when trying to open...nice!

Find hose from air pump to ACV has a tear, wild goose chase..no body carried a hose that works (all too stiff).

Not 1 but nearly EVERY hose clamp I tried to reuse today was bad (bent groves) guy who had this car was a fool. This was a few trips to the store.

Realize I am missing 2 of the belts...NICE! Where'd they go?

I made custom chrome air pump and Alt brackets, Alternator bracket still needs more alterations so it wouldnt fit.

ON A GOOD NOTE... my fan from a 960 Volvo, with some TLC and fabrication, fit really nice, but I still need to install the thermo control...This thing has awesome air flow.

I posted pics of the fan and some more of the motor before and after...I cant take credit for the rebuild, so I have no pics of the progress. I will keep you posted as I do more.

Sounds pretty routine to me

It'll get there.
