Finally Finished the 4 month body project!!!!

Well last night at 9 I put on the final coat of clear and let my baby dry. This has been a 4 month project just to clean up the dings and dents on her. I also decided in that time to add a knock off kit that had some fitment issues but since I was already molding everything it wasnt a big deal.

I also picked up that sweet wrap around wing from a member on here. It needed some work like the kit but it all worked out well. I hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think.

The paint was somewhat a dissapointment because the color was supposed to be gunmetal metallic grey and it is far from that it is actually a deep silver but with all the work I put into it I am not going to worry about that right now. Next weekend I will more likely put in the boost gauge and fc1000 as well as put the stock intake and what not back on to try to get her inspected.

Anyways on to what everyone wants to see.

Thanks for all your help guys

Very nice! I normally don't like silver FC's too much, but yours does look good. Good job!

Thanks man yea I dont like silver either in fact I hate the color but I think because the body work came out so nice and the lines flow so well that the color actually worked out ok. I just wish it had been darker but not much I can do now.

Some of the body mods aren't in my taste, but it looks good as a whole. Can't wait to see her all put together.

I can definitely respect the work done, I'm in process of wetsanding and polishing the clear on mine after a bare metal strip and some custom body mods.

More pics!

no that is one thing that as it being a daily driver and all I was not going to do... removing the engine to paint the bay would have been a serious waste of time in my eyes. If it was going to be a show car then I would have stripped up the carpeting and everything inside and painted all of that the same color as well. It would have been nice but too time consuming for what I was going for.

yes the engine bay is still red and the car is well silver i guess... i wish it was gunmetal but it definately isnt. Like I had said before painting the engine bay as well requires the removal of the engine and that is something that I had no intentions of attacking.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the S4 tails, myself. As long as they're in good condition, I think they go along beautifully with the 80s styling. Someone posted a few pics of their White S4 TII a few days ago, that was/is MINT, and the tails were shiny as ****. Looked gorgeous.

yea my tails are actually fairly shiny as well... so we will see next weekend once i finish up finals at school I should be able to start putting the door skins back on and the taillights... I will also be installing an fc1000 and an hks boost gauge mounted in the door where the vent used to be.

ok well learn to spell ice blue... and i would like to know how it is a poor job on repaint. considering it is the middle of winter something like 30 degrees and a garage job I thought it came out quite good. Secondly I dont know how it is slow I had more than enough dings and dents I had to pull out plus the door was slammed in slightly. I am a full time student so that limits me to one day on the weekend to work on considering school is an hour away plus I dont have a car I rely on others for rides.

Either way thanks for the input guys keep it coming and if you do post stuff like iceblue thats fine just explain why you think what you think

I like it man.

I'm always interested in seeing garage paint-jobs because I REALLY want to do one. How much was the paint/clear and how much did you pay for it? Also, what gun/compressor did you use?

BTW, I'm sure the color will grow on you. I would be disappointed also if I was going for the darker shade, but whatever, it'll look good as soon as you've got the wheels on it and it's out of the garage.

I'm a little suprised you didn't mold the spoiler?

I have that same wing on a shelve. Anyone know who manufactured it. I got it off an 87 TII a couple of years ago. Mine is also fiberglass.

Good job overall. Future plans???
