It honestly looks like from the pics that they were just balanced. The places where one would normally remove material are barely touched. But any material gone is a good thing.

Thats the first time I've heard of that being done.. I would think removing weight from the outside areas would be much better than removing weight from the inside. All the lightened rotors I've seen have had material removed from the outside. It does look like your rotors just had some removed from the outside just for balancing..

has your guy done other rotors the same way?
im no expert, but it seems that if I had a rotating mass that I wanted lighter it would be less stressfull on the rotating assembly if I removed the weight from the outer edges, this way there is less rotating mass.
Just discussing thats all.

was told that removing weight from the side seal could cause those areas to collapse under high rpm runs (keep in mind this is auto/roadracing .. so lots of high revs and on/off throttle constantly)
