Final Newbie Question, I Promise!

Ok, last thing I'm checking on before I leave y'all alone. When removing the rats nest, on which there is a good writeup in the FAQ, I wanted to verify that ALL 4 solenoids can come out of the Turbo cars without issue...it seems like there are 3 things that ought (?) to stay...the twin scroll solenoid (what the heck does this do, anyway?) with the switching actuator, the PCV system, and possibly the fuel pressure/hot start switching system...are all but the PCV completely removeable, and if so, can I remove the switching actuator as well, or should this just run off manifold pressure?

maybe I lied about the last question part, but heck, I'll keep it to a minimum after I figure all these stupid little things out...
