Filling GXL gearbox with tranny fluid

Filling GXL gearbox with tranny fluid

Can you fill the gearbox(manual) with tranny fluid through the shifter location when the gear lever is removed? Like when you are changing the shifter bushing --Tranny is a GXL. any help would be greatful

i dont think there is even a drain plug for the shift linkage area, you have to get a little hand pump or a turkey baster and suck it out. =\

There is a plate on the passenger side of the linkage area!! If u can get to it with out dropping the tranny, it works very well!! I haven't tried it with tranny in car though!!!

There's no point trying to fill the shifter box with fluid. If you do, all you'll succeed in doing is creating a huge mess under the car when it leaks out of the shifter boot. Grease up the shifter ball with thick grease, and spray some lithium grease onto the linkages.
