Fifth and sixth ports opening hope its legit

I got my fifth and sixth ports to open today. I have a 86 fc and I removed the smog pump and all plumbing. My ports have not opened in over two years. today i put a hose from the intake (one of the pluged vacume lines) to the port that connects to the tube that connects to the catalitic converter. [this line also connects to the egr] Now my engine runs like it was bran new. What I'm hopeing is that this will not cause any adverse effects on my engine. Im basically trying to fool the engine into thinking that there is backpressure at the correct rpm. What I noticed today is that My hp is all the way through the band. My Engine only has 57000 miles on it. If this is bad Please tell me. I love My rx and cant bare to see anything go bad on her. Ill send Pics as soon as I can.

My, my. That is interesting.

The auxillary ports open by air PRESSURE and you have a VACUUM line going to the tube that operates them. I've gotta think about that some. Something isn't quite right about that working the way you have it arranged.

yeah that dont sound right at all... on a n/a car there is no pressure from the intake anywhere.... so I dont see how they are working... if they are COOL if they are not that sux lol...

put a dab or grease on the actuator arm and see if the grease moves when u get into the power band.. if it does not then they are not opening
