I know lots of people here have done this but my question is whether I need the Shroud or not or just the fan?

Shroud makes the fan work more efficiently. So if you have room, and don't mind the ugly shroud, use it. If you don't have room, you don't have to use it, but your cooling system will have to work harder to do the same job. (i.e. hotter temps).

The fiero fan shroud is part of the fan, you can't take the fan w/o the shroud.

I run an efan w/o the shroud. Makes the engine bay alot cleaner. I haven't changed the thermastat or backwashed the system in over two years and I run at half the gauge all the time (a/c doesn't raise it even a notch). I know the shroud would make it more efficient, but it seems to do ok.
