Arrow A few quick strut bar questions

First of all when installing an adjustable strut bar should it be adjusted to push outward or pullinward. I searched and found discussion but found no solid answer.

Also given that the brackets fit (which I havent tried yet) would there be any disadvantage to using a strut bar made for the front in the rear? As far as I can tell the only difference is that the mounting point is centered. I have about 5 front strut bars floating around my garage and if I can save a few pennies and not buy a rear it would help.

Thanks in advance for the help.
