few questions before i buy..

Hey guys,
So i found my dream car (pretty close anyways), but i was wondering a few things:
1. im not sure if the sunroof doesnt work or if im dumb or what.. but when i went to look at it, the moonroof made noise when i pushed the buttons but it didnt actually move. is there a trick or is this something i should be looking to fix? common problem?

2. it didnt like to start, i had to fiddle with fuses but it started eventually.. i think it was flooded.. i think i read on here this is something rx7s like to do sometimes?

3. what are the damn buttons that say "passenger" on the pioneer amp below the cd player?

4. they were saying it had a limited slip.. but i thought N/A didnt come limited slip? i did a burnout and it posi'd but that coulda been luck with the wheels losing traction..

5. am i getting a decent deal? heres what it is:

'91 rx7, stick, 90k miles.. PERFECT black leather interior, pioneer cd sound system, white exterior -- perfect body but few scratches, moonroof, racing beat exhaust, hatch cargo cover. they are asking $4400 but i had em talked down to 3750.

1. Tracks could be stuck. Just give it a little push and help it.

2. Not sure.

3. Not sure.

4. I think in 91' only model that came with LSD was the Turbo II, so unless it was swapped in, it should be open diff.

5. Not sure haha, sounds pretty nice. Congrats if you get it.

Actually a few of the 91's came with lsds....it was kind like a mistake I do belive but don't quote me on it. If you have a chance to look at the car again then look at the pumpkin and you should see wether it is tagged or not. If tagged then lsd if not then no lsd.

There was something about some 91s with the A/B package having a LSD.

FLooding happens, do some searching but basically if you start it and then turn it right off.... floods. Also leaky injectors can cause it. I got 2 sevens and have only had 2 instances of flooding over the years and one was my fault.

Push the sunroof a bit, sometimes they get sticky. You can lube the rails and it helps.

I have no idea about the stereo thingy. Might be something about it in the stickies.

Yeah I'd say it sounds like a good deal.

One thing, compression test the motor. $3750 is a lot of money to spend on a car and have the engine pop.

Yeah you can pick up a compression tester at sears for $20, compression test it.

My GXL had that passenger thing on it, it has something to do with the built in amplifier i think.

Witch Hunter can clean leaky injectors for $17 a piece.

Compression test it and tell us what it comes out as. Let the engine warm up, hook up the compression tester to one spark plug holes on the front rotor. Take out the egi fuses in the engine bay.

Hold the accelerator to the floor and crank for about 10 seconds.

Record what number comes up on the tester.

Repeat for the rear rotor.

At 85 PSI you need to rebuild. I wouldn't buy it for that price unless you get between 105-110. And everything else is good.

Aaroncake i do believe has an article on how to buy an rx-7, read up on that.
