a few question.please help.!!!!!!!!

ok i redid the main battery ground that goes from battery to frame, then from frame to block. also redid the ground from the top of block to the frame where the ZubZero overflow tank is is located. i also redid the posetive wire in the battery that goes to the starter.

i was told the transmission ground goes in to the ground wire that goes to the block or battery. but ones i unwrapped the wires from downbelow to free up the main grounds and starter wire , i didnt see anything that was attached in any fashiion to those grounds.
1) does any one have a picture or good description of where that ground is? its for an 87 N/A automatic.
2)when looking at the starter wire with the little harnes to it that blugs in the back i noticed it was pretty black almost like the cable was corroded inside or just fried. car starts but if i wanted to replace it where does it lead too? it goes int a harnes and then where to ? anyone know?
3) i am experiencing my car being stuck in overdrive. starter went out and sence stuck in overdrive. is there a relay for that and if so anyone know where it is located and how much it would be to replace?
4)one last thing its about the heare blower unit. i took a volt meter down there. when i put the key in and turn the blower on it goess from 0.00 to 0.01-0.06 at max. is that correct? the blower will not turn we checked at the resistor and it was getting 12V and checked the power wires and they were too. its almost like the blower itself the fan part that is bad. i got a new one and sence had problems with getting it to work. it works cause you can put on a batter an it will turn. any one got any anseres? when you slide the adjuster for speed you can hear the relay click so ther is power there and we put a volt meter down there after it and its gettign juice. are there different types of fans out there could they have given me a wrong one? let me know thanks

well i was going to only post a few questions at ones but then i was on a roll plus there are so many of us that post i figured having multiple threads is pointless to keep up with. there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on here and all it takes is for some of them to read this and im sure they can anser pretty much all of these .
thanks already.

dude wtf. seriously, wtf.

Why are you replacing grounds-- you better have a better reason than "because"

As for the autobox, I say **** it and throw a 5spd in. But since you don't know that milivolts are quivalent to 1/12 miliwatts and pretty much nothing on a 12v system, I wouldn't expect you could do that.

Anyhow, the blower thing... Get your multimeter off of reading milivots... seriously. Its a 12v system, NOT 12000 milivolts. Look elsewhere to find the problem than speculating a few milivolts @ the blower itself.

Hell, you could put a multimeter lead on your tounge, and the ground on the key in the ignition and you would probably get several milivolts when you turn the ignition on. I can hold the leads of a multimeter in my fingers on different hands and get milivolts...

As for stuck in overdrive. Ha, that sucks. Seriously, though 90% chance its not eletrical.S5 trannies are Ecat/eat, but both are dependant on a diaphram that gets connected to the throttle body. 90% of pre-2000 auto trannies used a diaphram for shift points (even though the EAT/ecat will manipulate it some).

EDIT: and there was a TSB back in the 1990s to uninstall the subzero system, its a worthless pita and mazda realized it was causing more problems than solving, just remove it.

we had the settings on the volt meter correct . i was assuming that voltages was to low thats why i posted on here . i wasnt sure how much it would take to make the fan move. so i posted to get a response.

thanks for the input. by what you are saying about the tranny in overdirve, your saying its machanical right? not electrical. just weird cause it happened same time the starter went out.

please keep giving me some valuable information so i can hopefully fix these things.

um... 12. You're talking about 0.002v, not quite going to cut it

check the diaphram at the back of the tailshaft on the tranny. There will be a vac line connected to it that runs all the way up to a nipple on th eunderside of the throttle body. If it comes disconnected, the tranny won't know when is (mechanicaly speaking) the correct shift point.
