at best, the radio and CD player is 17 years old... it may just be time to replace it. It'll probably cost less than getting the stock unit repaired or replaced, and you'll get much better sound quality and skip protection with a new one.

If you still want a stock one tho, I still have the one that I pulled out of my 'vert. Its the cassette/CD/tuner one, and i know the radio and cd still work (although the CD player is a bit picky). I never used the cassette portion. If you want it, i wont be able to dig it up until early october, but for $20 and shipping, its yours. PM me if you want it.

you may just want to buy new speakers and wire them up in there, they are almost twenty years old after all. But regardless check all the wiring.

Overall i think the headrest amps are pretty resilient... does it get power but not play, or do the lights just not light up, or what? I know on mine if the car sits for more than a day or so, you need to hold down the volume up button for up to 20 seconds or so until you can hear it, but it does always work. You can even keep them when you install an aftermarket headunit, since they take their signal from the under-dash speakers. There is one wire that needs to see +V for the headrest amp to work, and normally thats switched by the radio, but my aftermarket unit didnt have a wire for that, so i just wired it to the accessory power.
