a few issues, help?

I have a couple questions about my 88 rx7...

first things- when i brake there this pop/ clicking sound but only when i first start to slow down then the sound goes away, what might this be?

sencond thing- when I reverse there also a quite little clicking sound as well but its different from the braking sound and its coming from the rear and not the front like the braking sound, ideas?

third thing- im new to the whole rotary thing, my oil light was going off so i put some oil in and it was at full 2 weeks ago then i just checked and its between Low and Full, and i didnt see any where that it could be leaking from, do these things burn oil? or what causes it to burn oil or any spots to check that i might not of seen if it could be leaking from?

thanks!

yes these cars do burn oil but not that much. have someone rev the motor to 6k, make sure its warm, then check to see if there is any black smoke coming out from the exhaust. if there is then the oil seals could be going out. hopefully it could be just a minor leak from the oil pan.

1- Check your suspension bushings. Most likely its weight shifting to the front of the car thats making something hit metal where there should be rubber.

2- Differential bushings, look under the back at them.

3- Car needs ~1 qt oil every other fill up normally. Oil is used to seal the rotors against the housing, and thus is injected and burned away.

You have to push the clutch in all the way to start the car, that's normal. I am not sure why it would be 'un normally hard' to do that.

At this point your shifter bushings are probably toast. Buy some new ones from www.mazdatrix.com
