A few Engine Specific Questions...

I just wired my 5th and 6th ports open..S4 engines the actuator arms are supposed to be pushed in to open ports..I did this..Now car runs a little rough..Kinda lopes..Is this normal..I also need to find someone in the forum that can rebuild and possibly port my 86 N/A motor..It still runs, but it has 100,000 miles on it and I think it would be safe to rebuild it..I also want to get as much power out of it as I can..I drive it around town and streetrace on occassion..I am not rich..I need to have an affordable quote on a rebuild..I have seen where several members on this forum rebuild engines and need to know how to get in touch with them..I would be sending just the block to get rebuilt..I think I can pull everything out and reinstall everything myself..Just need the rebuild and the port job..Any suggestions would help out..Thanks guys

His name is Kevin. Since the engine is not blown, the housings and rotors should be ok for a rebuild. He quoted me $1400 for a rebuilt and streetported engine, and mine is blown, so new parts are needed. Good luck!!

Does he do a good job..About how long do you think a correctly done street port will last..What all will be replaced when he does the rebuild..Also which Block off plate do I need to purchase if I want to remove my air pump..It isn't hooked up so I don't need it...I am going to get it from K2RD...I think it is the Acv plate right...Hit me back up guys...

ACV block off plate is the right plate. Your air pump is not hooked up, do you still have your cats? The main cat recieved air from the pump and if you still have them on you don't want to remove the pump (they will clog). Correct me if I am wrong.

Kevin is a really great guy who does economical rebuilds. Since no internal stuff is screwed, it should be just fine. Now for a hard core rebuild, check out www.atkinsrotary.com and their "E" package. Basically an all new motor for about $4k. The block off plate is easy as pie to install, and is a must in case you ever install a header.

Who Is the block off plate a must with a Header? The ACV Is still functional on an n/a with a Header Installed. Just no EGR function capabilities b/c the the port which Injects fresh air Into the exhaust Is blocked off due to the Headers massive flange.
