Angry fender/door removal

i just got taken out on sunday, one bloody week after i bought the car, my first car too by the way. and my door is smashed in and my front left fender is pushed in pretty good too. i am wondering how hard it is to replace the front left fender and the drivers side door. i know i can get the parts but its a matter of getting them in there. also how much it might cost me. i think i have an idea, but it never hurts to ask. anyone who has done this or could give me some advice?
thanks.

To get the door off is easy you just need some help so they can hold it when you pop the bolts out, and then just pull the pin that stops it form flying open to far. To get the fender off you have to pull the front bumper which is held on by bolts that are burried in front of the wheels so you have to take the fender whells out. Its not that hard you just need some extensions and a couple of sockets and wrenches. And there are a countless number of other bolts that you have to take out. (It seems never ending)

Yeah ugh, dont start this unless you have the money laying around to buy new clips and bumper mounts, old ones will break.

the fender isn't too hard to take off. i replaced my drivers side one, by removing the bolts for the bumper on the drivers half and loosening the ones on the passenger side. the ones holding the bumper on from the inside of the fender can be done by just peeling the fender well back and using a socket wrench with a good 6-10" extender so you don't have to get your arm all the way in there. by doing that you can move the bumper away from the fender about an inch which allows you to access the bolts on the front side of the fender with a box end wrench. oh and you will have to remove the front lip too, but just the part that is screwed to the fender.

p.s. the bolts should all be 10mm, there are 3 inside the fender well and 1 in front of the head light, you'll have to pop it up to reach the bolt. reach from next to the coolant resivoir under some framing to beneath the headlight. and i did this on a S5 there maybe subtle differences

I just removed my drivers side fender and put it back on two days ago because i had to paint it. I did not have to take off the bumper at all. theonlygreat is right, there is 4 total 10mm bolts on the front of the fender that go through the bumper. The ones on top of the fender are 12mm's and the few bolts to remove the wheel well are also 12mm.

Tim

PS: To remove the fender and put it back on took about 10 minutes each. And that was by myself.

As long as things aren't bent too bad, straight body panel replacement is easy. If things got torqued, it could be a big pain in the rear to get the new ones on.....

at this point i am just hoping the rocker panel isnt too screwed up. it doesnt look too bad but who knows. that suv really smushed into me.
thanks for your help. ya i guess i just have to hope that nothing is too mangled underneath where i cant see, otherwise it could get interesting trying to get the new panel and door on.
