fender bender, now idle prob

fender bender, now idle prob

hi all, long time lurker, wish i had a better reason to join. but oh well. got in my first acciedent today, was a 10mph crash into the rear end of a truck.her bumper dug into my driver headlight and bent it back....not too bad. but now my car idles at 3.1k all the time.anyone have an idea what could cause this? i havent popped the hood yet and i know thats the first thing your all going to tell me but i havent gotten a chance yet with the was its bent back. ill update when i look under hood.

meh, easy fix. cruise control wire got pulled out a bit had to shove it back in.
replaced the headlight today too got lucky and found another red one on a parts car not too far from me.

Wow, that is one hell of a lucky accident : )

Glad the 7 is still running. How did the cruise control cable manage to get pulled? It's located near the firewall on the passenger side?

i have no idea...the cruse control was my guess all along, but i also thought it was on the driver side. yea it really puzzled me. now i have a good excuse to get an alignment after 2 months on new struts and springs haha.

I was going to come in here and say it might be a vacuum leak because a similar situation happened to me immediately following an accident. Glad you fixed it!
