Feal Coilover Reviews?

I had a friend recommend Feal Coilovers to replace my horrible Godspeed projects. I was just wondering if anybody had any feedback with ride quality and handling. I noticed that there spring rates seem to be a little bit different then other companies. I am looking for suspension that is a little more forgiving on the body on the street. I do understand that coilovers are stiffer then OEM type setups, but I still would like to be able to enjoy driving around town.

if you enjoy driving around town you should just upgrade the stock type suspension with something other than stock struts and springs.

just about every coilover is not going to be very forgiving for comfort.

For spirited street driving you are better off with KYB AGX dampers and Racing Beat springs.

I do understand that, however I would lose so much adjustability. I love the option of different ride heights. Also i have none of the OEM stuff. Just the godspeed projects coilovers.

not sure how much this helps but about a week ago my buddy ordered a set of FEAL Track 441s and they were to replace his BC Type ERs on his 2000 Impreza GC8, we adjusted the FEALS to the same height that the BCs were at and the threaded body of the FEALS stuck out so far I*t was hitting the control arm prior to the car even being on the ground. FEAL doesn’t accept returns and my friend is stuck with 2 brand new sets of coils that he hates.

With that being said, my FC has the Powered By Max Track coils and they have optional Swift Spring Installments, I would highly reccomend them. Just a bit pricey but hey, worth I*t.

So what do you think is better, 1,000,000 choices all of which suck, or 8 choices of which one works really well?

It is nice to be able to raise the nose up let i did when i towed the car on a dolly, Half shafts removed, and if i choose to drive it in the winter.

for me to run KYBs and racing beat spring it would cost almost as much as coil overs since, I have to buy everything to use them, I have no OEM shock parts at the moment.

you could check around and probably find something used in good condition for a couple hundred bucks or less.

and i dont know about the whole jacking up to tow thing, that's like a couple hours of wasted effort versus making a couple of wheel chocks out of some wood...

Thank you that is what I was asking for. I am trying to not spend a lot of money on a suspension setup and regret it right away.

I saw them online for $1,400 which seems pretty par for the course.

I just installed a set of Feal 441 on my FD. I'm going to make a thread. It's been a mixed bag. There are some big glaring fitment issues and there seems to be some lack of attention to detail. Ride quality is surprisingly good though.

**EDIT oops sorry didn't realize this was such an old thread. I just searched 'Feal suspension' as I wanted to see if other customers were having similar issues.

With those KYB Adjustable would you run something like Racing Beat Springs? I've always considered those or Tokico Iluminas but wasn't sure if it would get in the way of aftermarket wheels like 17x9 +22 RPF1s due to the springs you would use on them.

FC3S Pro v2.0: Mods - Rims

That's a nice guide to help fit wheels onto a "factory" style suspension (aftermarket allows you to run different offsets, I believe it's due to small spring diameter?).

Yes

The rear Illuminas are adjusted on the top, while rear AGX are adjusted on the side. Therefore, the Illuminas are easier to adjust if your car doesn't have any rear speaker grilles, while the AGX are easier to adjust if your car retains the rear speaker grilles.

Weird aftermarket wheels may require modifications to the suspension, chassis, or drivetrain. That's what you get for being weird.

That's a good point, other then that how you adjust them how do they compare?

FWIW - I went with the Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers (9K Front, 7k Rear). Amazing quality and Fortune Auto's CS is top notch. Gave me plenty of clearance for my 17x9+22 RPF1s
