anybody here ever raced an FD and beat it or gotten close. how much different are they from each other. engine wise??

I am sure a TII could get up there with the FD if the FD was stock and the TII was modded.

SCCA puts them in the same Street prepared class... if that means anything at all.

 

my mechanic, scott glassburn has a 91 T2, running 12 lbs of boost and a very, very nice 12.7 1/4 mile time. know what he has done to his car? INtake, full racing beat exhaust and an upgraded turbo turbine...

of course he has boost control and other fuel mods, but it's VERY fast for what he has done to it.. he offord to let me drive it once, but i refused.. i said it's too fast, i'm afriad i'll break something

I've had a few battles with FD's around here. Pulled the stock ones, and slowly was walked away from by an FD with full exhuast.

 

Ive been interested in seeing how I hold up.

 

well rx7 revolution the FB's Fc's and FD's battled out and the FD's won

 

I raced mine against my friends 93 touring, with a street ported motor, and full exhaust. He pulled on me about 2 cars at most then we just hung for a long time at that distance apart.

 

I would have to say that im sure hes faster BUT I highly dought he would eat me alive. After tuning my car will be in the low 11's. My goal is still at high 10's and I would stop modding until I reach that goal.

A TII running the same amount of boost as an FD would be making almost the same amount of power. Id say that a race between a fully modded TII and a fully modded FD would be pretty close.

The motors themselves arent too different. A few small details, but the most differences are in the intake & exhaust manifold, aswell as the turbos.

 

Hehe, no disrespect meant, I love your car as much or more than anyone, and agree that it is incredably fast. But I still think Nocab's FD is faster... Maybe the "eat you alive" statement was a bit much, as in a straight up drag race it would be very close, but I think from a roll he would pull you pretty hard. This is from the vids I have seen of your 11.8 runs, now drop another second from that like you're saying, and maybe the outcome would be different...

I have no doubt that hes faster. I have changed alot of stuff since the 11.8 runs I was putting down. Complete suspension, more boost, better tuning....but still not complete. His car is sick! period. I kinda think his 3rd Gen and any 3rd Gen is in a completely different league than my cars in. Its all good, im not trying to compete with anyone, I just have my car to have a little fun.

 

Anyone remember Soul Assassins car would surely remember the race between him and the mooded to **** and back FD that he wooped up on. now THAT was a sick *** FC. Damn the man that put it down.
