fd twin turbo on 86 gxl

would i be able to get a twin turbo setup from a fd and put it on a ported fc motor or would i have to get the fd motor.... or would i be better off getting the entire fd setup, motor and everything. do the fd headers match the exhaust ports on the fc motor

If you had a ton of time, money, patience and knowledge, you might be able to make it work. But the simple answer is no. Even if you have a full FD motor successfully mounted in an FC (pretty big project itself), good luck getting the turbos to work like they're supposed to.

Let me fix this for you.

The simple answer for probably 98% of the people on this board who want to turbo their car is no.

IF you happen to know what you're doing though:

I started a thread on my conversion to sequential twins not long ago, it requires some serious hackjobing of the FD LIM (you better know a good welder), at LEAST an after market ECU or PowerFC. If you have it all laying around like I did, it IS possible to do with a bit of fab work, AND keep the sequentials working. You'll need a complete FD intake set, pair of twins, all of the assorted piping, etc from a REW. You'll also need pressure chambers and at least 3 solenoids.

either get an FD, or swap a TII motor

I swapped an FD motor into my TII about 7 years ago. I ditched the twins and went with a T04E then ditched that for a GT35R.

I also ditched the stock ECU and went aftermarket, in my case, because I did not want to follow the masses, I went with a Motec M4.

None of this was cheap and in hindsight, I would have been better off just buying a FD and building it up.

But, the sleeper affect is priceless.
