Putting a FD motor in a FC is a lot of work and not simple. The 89+ TII motors have some of the upgrades that the FD has. The rotors wiegh the same, intake manifold is larger than the 87-88 TII, flywheel is lighter.

The FD is lighter than the FC, especially the 89+ TII's. A 89+ TII with some mods (exhaust and intake) should be about as fast as a FD that is stock. Put your car on a diet, lose cats, airpump, use a 51R size battery, probably will save you 30-40lbs, add exhaust and intake and you should be quite a bit faster.

Actually the Fd motor isnt worth the swap. if you need more power get a 3 rotor. They fit in a 2nd gen much better than a 3rd gen. You dont need to lower the steering rack so you retain the stock handling capabilities without doing lots of expensive fabrication. Still its about 4x the cost of doing any other motor swap its going to pay off with results.
