fd in a fc

Has anyone put a fd drive train, ie. motor and tranny, in a fc? I was wondering if it is possible or just a waste of time. I have a mazda remain in mine right now and it runs great but I was wanting some more power. I don't know what the differences in the sec gen motor and the third gen motors are. Also is there a big difference in the s4 and s5 motors. I already have the s5 mani and turbo so what are the other differences? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Gonna be a lot of custom fab work to mount the FD stuff. Custom motor mounts. Custom tranny mounts. Custom driveshaft. Just a lot of money. I went a slightly different route. I took a REW from a FD and used all of the internals with my ported S4 plates and intake manifolds. That got me the lighter flywheel and rotors of the S6 as well as the hardened stationary gears and higher oil pressure regulator. I stayed with the TII tranny.

S5 motors are higher compression than the S4. They also feature an electric OMP instead of the mechanical one of the S4. The S5 rotors are the same weight and compressiond ratio as the S6 IIRC and I don't recall any other internal differences between S5 and S4 right this moment.

Anything is possible, but it depends on what kind of budget you want to throw at it. Welcome to the rotary scene and I hope to see you at the revolution in Indy.

What mods does you have on your car now? The FD doesnt have that much more potential than a turbo FC in my opinion.

almost all the parts are superior imo. The intake being the greatest, there are other internal parts that are better. Overall tho, the FD engine has more potential for higher hp, so if your going for under 400hp, then no need for the fd engine. If you want to shoot for above that, the FD motor can take it no prob, where the FC engine cannot without some dowel pinning of the irons/housings.

Well what percentage of turbo FC guys have over 400whp? I'm not denying the FD has more potential it just that not many people will get up to that level. Also I dont think this guy has come anywhere near the potential of a s5 reman.

To get back on topic.
